Ministry of Energy and Water

The Ministry for Energy and Water is the central public organization in charge of energy and water security issues in Lebanon. Since 2002, the Ministry has implemented numerous initiatives to support the development of energy efficiency and renewable energy in Lebanon through the work of the LCEC. LCEC continues today its activities under the leadership of the Ministry. The Ministry of Energy and Water has launched a number of international bids to build renewable energy projects in the country. 

Electricité du Liban

In Lebanon, electricity is supplied by Electricité Du Liban (EDL), a state owned Lebanese power utility. It is responsible for the generation, transition, and distribution of electricity to all Lebanese territories up to the highest possible quality standards and in compliance with the laws and regulations of the Lebanese Republic in order to support and promote economic growth and social development in Lebanon. LCEC is constantly collaborating with EDL on several axes, more actively on.

World Energy Council

The Council is the UN-accredited global energy body. Its member list includes governments, businesses and expert organizations. The World Energy Congress, held over 20 times since the organization’s founding, is the world’s premier energy gathering. The World Energy Council continues to build on its long, stable history as a key player on the global energy scene. The Lebanon Committee of the World Energy Council is hosted by the LCEC.
