The LCEC issued a request for proposals (RFP) to install three (3) grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with lithium battery storage in three (3) public schools in Lebanon, as part of the Energy Smart Mediterranean Schools Networks Project (ESMES). This RFP was shared on February 28th, 2022 with the twenty (20) bidders who had previously shown their interest to participate in this bid, following LCEC's call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) announced back in December 2021.
The deadline for submission of proposals is on Thursday March 31st, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
This RFP will be implemented in Majadel Public School, Al Barouk Public School, as well as Bir Hassan Vocational & Technical Education Complex; in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon (MEHE).
The project has a total capacity of 67 kWp of solar PV panels and 120 kWh of storage. Through this activity, one of the project goals of 'increasing the use of renewable energy in public schools and improving energy security' will be achieved.
