IRENA Publishes the “Renewable Energy Outlook of Lebanon”

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has recently published the “Renewable Energy Outlook: Lebanon”, combining IRENA’s Renewables Readiness Assessment (RRA) and the REmap (Renewable Energy Mapping) methodologies. The report is a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Energy and Water and IRENA and aims at setting the path for Lebanon to reach 30% of its electricity consumption from renewables by 2030. The “Renewable Energy Outlook: Lebanon” will be the main reference for the LCEC to develop the “National Renewable Energy Action Plan for Lebanon” for the period 2021-2025. LCEC Publishes a New Request for Proposals

The LCEC has recently published a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the ‘geometric survey and the general conservation state visual analysis of the “Municipality of Tripoli” and the “Rashid Karami Municipal Cultural Center”’. The RFP is part of the “BIM for Energy Efficiency in Public sector– BEEP” project activities co-funded by the European Union (EU). The project aims at strengthening the use of BIM (a process supported by various tools and technologies involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places) to enhance energy efficiency in buildings. The testing of this emerging technology on built heritage will be performed to demonstrate its scalability to the entire building stock.
