LCEC to Publish Results of Survey of Home Appliances Within Retailers and Household

As part of the Italian Energy Efficient Home Appliances program (IEEHA), the LCEC has conducted a detailed survey that included 1,486 home appliances within retailers and households. The results of the survey will be included in a report entitled “Availability, Efficiency and Use of Home Appliances in Lebanon” to be published soon. The report describes the state of the local market of home appliances in Lebanon and highlights the importance of progressively replacing the country’s current stock of home appliances with more energy-efficient ones, leading to tremendous energy savings at both the individual and national levels. Based on the results of the report, a national subsidy program will be launched to support the replacement of over 15,000 home appliances in Lebanon. The IEEHA program is one part of a technical cooperation agreement on sustainable development between the Italian Ministry for the Environment Land and Sea and LCEC.
