Within the capitalization call of the ENI CBCMED Program, 9 partners have joined together to find innovative solutions and tools to reduce energy consumption in public buildings through cost-effective approaches to energy refurbishment, integrating Sustainable Energy Access and Climate Action Plans and innovative support mechanisms for Cities.
SEACAP 4 SDG project will work on the inputs and outcomes of 14 selected reference projects financed within different EU Initiatives (ENI CBCMED, INTERREG MED, UfM), identifying characteristics to be generalized, and by adapting gained knowledge to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of energy refurbishment strategies adapted to local Med specificities.
These outputs and outcomes will be implemented in 9 cities around the Mediterranean (selected through a Call for interest, to be launched in March 2022) and a specific capacity building mechanism and training activities will support them in adapting and implementing the tools and methodologies for further replication and capitalization.
The project is 18 months in duration with a total budget of € 1 million.
The project is led by Euromed Cities Network / Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis (France) and the whole partnership is composed by:
Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) – Egypt;
University of Patras - Greece
