New RFQ by EU-Funded BEEP Project

Within the scope of the EU-funded BEEP project under the ENI-CBC-MED program, the LCEC has published a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for “Environmental and Energy Simulation for the EE-HBIM Design of Energy Rehabilitation” for the “Municipality of Tripoli” and the “Rashid Karami Municipal Cultural Center” buildings. Despite the small budget for this RFQ, it is among the first exercises to link energy simulation to HBIM design, opening the door to a large potential similar projects in historical buildings ‘ renovation in Lebanon and elsewhere. To download the RFP, check the LCEC web site: https://lcec.org.lb/node/264. To know more about BEEP activities, connect through @BEEP_EniCbcMed.

BUILD_ME Project Launches “Building Energy Performance Tool”

The BUILD_ME project has recently launched the new “Building Energy Performance Tool” (BEP). Tailored to the MENA region, the BEP tool provides users with a free software application to calculate the overall energy performance of buildings and the cost-effectiveness of building energy efficiency measures. The BEP tool could be very useful to project developers, financial institutions, architects, researchers, or even non-technical users. the BEP tool is an excellent decision-support system in finding answers to questions related to energy performance in buildings. To check the BEP tool: Building energy performance tool (buildings-mena.com). The BUILD_ME project is financed by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety.
