How to Benefit from Decree 167/2017: Tax Reductions on Environmental and Sustainable Energy Products

Back in 2017, the Lebanese Government issued decree 167 (published in the Lebanese national Official Gazette on 23 February 2017). The decree is based on the Environment Law  No. 444 and aims at promoting and supporting the use of environmentally-friendly products and services, including sustainable energy products, through the application of customs tax reductions and income tax reductions. Basil Fuleihan Finance Institute has previously published a guide report on the procedure to follow to benefit from tax deductions. AFD Launches New Request for Proposals: “Public Policy Debate on Environmental Policy in Lebanon”

The “Agence Française de Développement” (AFD) has recently launched a new request for proposals entitled “research and public policy debate on environmental transition in Lebanon” as part of the “Public Policy Dialogue Project”. The main tasks required include the mobilization of Lebanese academic and research community, public authorities, and Lebanese youth towards producing research on environmental challenges in the country, including the identification of transition pathways towards a sustainable environmental model.
