Minister Gebran Bassil is currently Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants since February 2014. Previously, Minister Bassil was appointed Minister of Energy and Water in Lebanon from November 2009 till February 2014. He was also Minister of Telecommunication from July 2008 till November 2009.
The Minister was born on 21 June 1970. After completing his high-school studies at Saint Coeur College in Batroun, he graduated from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 1993 with a Master in Civil Engineering. Minister Bassil is in charge of the Free Patriotic Movement’s political relations. He is a member of many organizations such as the Lebanese Red Cross, the Rotary Club, and the Lebanese Green Club.
