Dr. Al Assad graduated from the Lebanese university with an engineering diploma in 2004. In 2005, he got his Masters degree in microwave, electromagnetics and electromagnetism from the University of Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France. In 2008, he received his PhD in electrical, electronics and telecommunications engineering earning the jury's highest recommendation. Since 2008, he occupies the position of associate professor at the Holy Spirit University (USEK) teaching several electrical engineering courses. His research covers different aspects of renewable energy, energy statistics and energy efficiency, publishing several articles and participating in different conferences as a speaker or member of organizing and scientific committees.
Since 2011, Dr. Al Assad is an advisor at the Ministry of Energy and Water and at the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation. He is responsible for different vital files such as the preparation of the Lebanese Renewable Energy Strategy (RES) and the Lebanese Energy Statistics Review. He is also member of different committees such as the wind energy committee at the Ministry of Energy and Water.
