CES-MED is a programme financed by the European Neighbourhood Partnership Instrument (ENPI). It tackles urban development and sustainable energy challenges in the Southern Mediterranean countries. LCEC is collaborating with CES-MED through the capitalization of the project’s financing mechanism in funding Sustainable Energy Action Plans developed under CES-MED as well as in integrating the project’s solar ordinance within more comprehensive Sustainable Energy Action Plans.
TAIEX is the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument governed by the Directorate-General Enlargement of the European Commission. TAIEX collaborates with partner countries to ensure compliance with EU legislation. It is responsible for many tasks such as providing short term technical assistance and advice on the implementation and application of EU legislation in the partner countries, bringing ENPI partner countries closer to EU through economic integration and political cooperation and providing technical training and assistance to the beneficiary countries. LCEC has been benefiting from the TAIEX to investigate innovative tools related to LCEC’s wide field of activities: renewable energy strategies, building certification, minimum energy performance standards for equipment. More specifically, LCEC has been capitalizing the MED-DESIRE project partnership in TAIEX activities that fall outside the scope of the project.
