Rani holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Lebanese University- Faculty of Engineering- Second Branch- Roumieh. With over 6 years of experience in the field of electrical installations and around 4 years in energy efficiency and renewable energies, Rani was the main contributor in the successful registration of the first Lebanese Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in the history of Lebanon, a project allowing LCEC to sell the carbon emission reductions from the national lamps replacement programme. He was also involved in the installation of the first solar water heaters testing facility at the Industrial Research Institute through a grant from the Greek government.
Rani is a member of the LCEC Executive Board. He is leading the implementation of the MED-DESIRE project financed by the European Neighborhood Partnership Instrument- Cross Border Cooperation initiative (ENPI CBC MED). He is also coordinating the execution of the first phase of the Beirut River Solar Snake (BRSS) 1 MW grid-connected solar farm. Rani is also member of the inter-ministerial committee working on the evaluation of the first bid for a wind farm by the private sector.
