Ziad B. El Zein graduated from Beirut Arab University (BAU) with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (“very good” standing). Between 1990 and 1996, El Zein was a lecturer at BAU. He was advisor to the Minister of Energy and Water between 2001 and 2003. El Zein joined UNDP as marketing services coordinator for the LCEC project (2003-2005), then held the position of Public Relations Coordinator (2005-2012), and is currently Vice-President of the Executive Board of the LCEC.
El Zein plays a major role at LCEC in building and sustaining solid relationships with local and international partners, as well as overseeing the financial and legal activities of the center. El Zein is member of many national and regional initiatives, namely representing Lebanon in the energy committee of the League of Arab States, RCREEE, and the MED-ENEC project, granting him a wide experience and knowledge of the energy sector developments in the Arab World. He is heavily involved in the follow-up and development of LCEC’s work regarding NEEREA, the Energy Conservation Law, and the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP)
