Arab Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
Date 01 June 2016 Place Cairo, Egypt Address Cairo, Egypt Occasion The forum is a high level international technical forum held every 2 years under the patronage by H.E. the Secretary General of the League of Arab States. It accommodates high level experts, firms, governmental organizations and Ministries in the energy field from the Arab region.

Mandated by the Minister of Energy and Water Mr. Arthur Nazarian, a delegation from the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation  represented by its president, Engineer Pierre El Khoury and vice president, Mr. Ziad El Zein and the technical advisor Dr. Joseph Al Assad, participated in the joint meeting of both electricity experts Committee and RE/EE experts Committee, held in Cairo on 30.05.2016 and the meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity held on 05.31.2016 in Cairo.


Moreover, the Lebanese delegation had also direct contributions in the activities of the Third Arab Forum for renewable energy and energy efficiency, which took place on 01.06.2016 and 02.06.2016, in the presence of a large number of experts. The forum included presentations dealing with the progress in Lebanon in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.


The 3rd Arab Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, addressed the current challenges facing future energy market transformation and transition in the Arab region, RE industrial capabilities and the role of private sector in catalyzing the relevant market, discussing the future role and impact of RE & EE development at economical, environmental and social levels. The Forum also highlighted the current most recognized positions and strategies towards up-scaling EE programs as well as enhancing RE contribution to the Arab Energy mix, in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN initiative “Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All)”
